Donal Crowley

Donal is a qualified Chartered Accountant, having trained with EY in Cork and was appointed Company Secretary and Financial Controller in 1996 and Deputy CEO in November 2017. He is a Director of a number of Port subsidiary Companies and a Pension Trustee.

He previously held senior management positions with three multi-national Companies operating in Cork.

Nicholas Bourke

Nicholas has worked in various roles in the Port of Cork Company since 2008. He joined the company as a Marine Pilot and in 2016 become Acting Deputy Harbour Master and then Deputy Harbour Master, Deputy Operations Manager and PFSO in 2017. In January 2026 Nicholas become Harbour Master (Interim).

Prior to working for the Port of Cork Company, Nicholas worked up to the position of Master for an Energy Major on LNG carriers. He was involved in new projects worldwide, including commissioning cargoes at Atlantic LNG, new spot market voyages in LNG, as well as with other projects with ADNOC, Northwest Shelf, TEPCO and other energy companies. He was also involved in change management, quality and safety systems as well as safety leadership in that organisation. He was involved in management and staff forums to assist with a rapidly expanding organisation with an ambitious new build program.

Prior to this he worked for an independent LPG trading and transportation company based in Hong Kong. Many of the LPG contracts involved new markets in Asia and South America. He also completed some short term contracts on RoRo vessels.

Nicholas was educated in Cork RTC/ Institute of Technology and has qualifications as Master Mariner and Harbour Master. Nicholas is an active member of the General Stevedoring Council and has partaken in working groups, courses and regular meetings.

Nicholas is a keen sailor and enjoyed growing up on the waters of Cork Harbour and is a proud citizen of Cobh.

Henry Kingston

Henry has been working with the Port of Cork Company since 2004. He joined the company as a Senior Engineer, Maintenance Manager, Safety Officer, and in 2018, he progressed to Port Engineering Manager. In 2022, he began his current role as Chief Land and Development Officer.

Prior to this, he worked as a Marine Engineering Officer for Northern Marine Management / Stena, and Staff Chief Engineer and Technical Project Manager with Sun Cruises.

Henry studied Marine Engineering at Munster Technological before also studying at University College Cork for an MBA in Business Administration.

Peter O’Shaughnessy

Peter is Chief Human Resource Officer and Head of HR at the Port of Cork Company. With over 10 years Director level experience with Ibec, Peter has also worked as Head of HR for both MJ Group and Gernord Limited. Since 2011, Peter has been a visiting Lecturer in Management and HR Development at University College Cork.

Peter studied Management at Kingston University and received a Master’s in HR Development at the University of Westminster specialising in Employment Law. Peter is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (Chartered FCIPD) and a Fellow of the Learning & Development Institute (FL&DI).

Tim Murphy

Tim is the Head of Port Engineering at the Port of Cork Company, having originally joined as a Civil Engineer and Project and Development Engineer. He joined the Port in 2015 following a 20-year career in the contracting industry, with particular experience in delivering large civil, marine and energy infrastructural projects.

Paul is Chief Commercial Officer at the Port of Cork Company, where he leads the organisation’s commercial function across all key business lines, supporting the Port’s ambitions for sustainable growth and trade expansion. He brings extensive executive leadership experience across the maritime and public sectors, having most recently served as Head of the National Maritime College of Ireland and previously spent more than 20 years in the Irish Naval Service in a range of senior leadership roles. A Chartered Manager with a PhD in Change Management, Paul has a strong track record in commercial growth, strategic transformation, governance, stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of complex organisational change programmes.

Sinéad is Chief People Officer at the Port of Cork Company, where she leads people strategy, organisational development, industrial relations, employee engagement, D&I in support of the Port’s strategic objectives. With over 20 years’ experience in the organisation, she has held a range of HR roles, developing deep expertise across port operations, workforce planning, employee relations, and HR operations. Sinéad holds both a Master’s in Human Resource Management and a BA (Hons) in Human Resource Management from Munster Technological University, achieving First Class Honours in both, alongside additional qualifications in HR, Accounting, and Social Studies. She works closely with the Senior Management Team to support organisational performance, leading culture transformation and diversity and inclusion initiatives that strengthen organisational capability and support a safe, inclusive, and high-performing workplace.
